The foundation programme is designed to meet the transition needs, regardless of the educational phase participants are working in or the stage of their career. It supports them in understanding concepts and principles relating to career transition and preserving their own professional identity and leadership in the context of national and local agendas for change.

It’ll enable participants, as current or aspiring middle/senior leaders, to reflect critically on their experience and understanding of change. Participants will develop scholarly knowledge that allows them to link theory with practice. They will be required to reflect on and articulate their professional identity and consider the implications of models of change for leadership styles.

To lead change at your full potential, you need to have the courage to take an honest look inside yourself. You will:

  • Develop a deeper understanding of change, transition and progression.
  • Discover mindful leadership as you build your resilience and adaptability.
  • Maximise your potential to make a profound and sustainable impact on your next career.

They can explore an area of interest and relevance to their professional role and career development as they undertake a small-scale practitioner research enquiry, leading to evidence-informed innovation.

This programme and assessments will allow participants to develop their ability to critically analyse data/information/literature, prepare reports and plans, as part of a team and enhance their career transition skills. Participants will prepare for the world of work through engagement with real-life situations and problems in assessments during a 21-day challenge to stop becoming overwhelmed and lose focus. The foundation in Leavers to Leaders is designed to instil the knowledge, skills and mindset needed to thrive during career transition. We do this through a programme which consists of three complementary components. The impactful results of the programme can only be achieved when all components work together.
